MUSHROOMS IN TARRAGON CREAM £3.50


Mixed mushrooms cooked with lots of tarragon in a creamy sauce, served on toasted ciabatta slices.


CHILLI CHICKEN SALAD £4.95


Chicken pieces in a coriander, lime  and crème fraiche dressing, topped with Parma ham and chilli croutons.


MELON AND GRAPEFRUIT SALAD WITH MANGO SMOOTHIE £3.85


Melon, grapefruit and fresh pineapple served with our own Bear style smoothie of mango and pineapple.


PRAWN COCKTAIL £4.25


Just a traditional dish with prawns, mixed leaves and our tangy Marie Rose sauce, topped with a king prawn and served with sliced brown bread.


CAMEMBERT PARCEL WITH BACON SALAD £4.25


Hot puff pastry filled with gooey Camembert cheese accompanied by a spring onion salad and crispy bacon bits.


SALMON GOUJONS £3.95


Salmon pieces deep fried in crispy batter and served with a warm salad with raspberry and wholegrain mustard dressing.


CHEF'S  SOUP OF THE DAY £2.50


Home made soup served with bread and butter. Our soups are often vegetarian but please do ask.


BEAR ESSENTIALS  are served with home made chips  and  vegetables of the day.

A prime gammon steak trimmed of fat and grilled, topped with your choice of fried eggs or pineapple.



CHICKEN IMPERIAL £8.15


Breast of chicken pan fried with mixed mushrooms, spring onion, cream and a touch of dry Tio Pepe sherry.


SALMON FILLET £7.95


Cooked simply and served with salad garnish.


SEA BASS £11.50


Butter sauteed fillets of sea bass served simply with lemon garnish.  Just one fillet £7.50   (although filleted some small bones may remain)



Our current choice of  special recipe dishes all served with 

home made chips.


PEPPERED STEAK £12.85

Extra trimmed fillet steak (approx 7oz uncooked) pan fried with our special pepper mix, a large shot of brandy and lots of cream. Served just with lots of mushrooms sauteed in butter and fries.


BEEF TERI YAKI £10.25

Strips of fillet steak with red peppers and red onions stir fried in our version of an oriental Teri Yaki sauce.


LAMB CUTLETS WITH CORIANDER £8.95

Lamb cutlets coated in a sticky sauce made with orange juice, honey and lots and lots of fresh

coriander,  served with mustard mash and fries.


CHICKEN CURRY £5.95

Our home made curry is a blend of traditional curry spices cooked with onions, peppers and tomatoes. We then add chicken off the bone and serve with side dishes of mini

poppadums, peanuts, banana, and mango chutney.

Also available as vegetable curry with seasonal vegetables. £5.50


CHEESE AND MUSHROOM EN CRUOTE £8.35

A puff pastry case filled with Mozzarella, mixed mushrooms and tomato served with tomato and basil concasse. Accompanied by todays choice of vegetables and fries.


PASTA WITH ROAST VEGETABLES £6.95

A selection of roasted vegetables served with pasta in a crème fraiche, Cheddar and mustard sauce. Served just with a green salad. (chips are extra with this dish)


CHICKEN WITH GARLIC AND PARMESAN CRUST £8.15

A supreme of chicken stuffed with garlic butter, topped with a crispy Parmesan cheese crust then baked until golden and served in a puddle of more garlic butter. (served with today's choice of vegetables)


TROUT WITH TOMATO AND VERMOUTH SAUCE £9.95

Oven baked boneless butterfly trout with a prawn and spring onion stuffing, topped with crispy bacon and served with a Noilly Prat and tomato sauce. (although filleted some small bones may remain)
